The team at RFWC provides a caring support system for families so that they can achieve their optimum health and lay a strong foundation for their future.

Are you a Pelvic Floor Physiotherapist seeking a supportive and collaborative clinic environment? We're a close-knit team of inter-professionally minded professionals dedicated to providing friendly and comprehensive care. RFWC is looking for a qualified Pelvic Floor Physiotherapist who shares our passion for supporting parents and families throughout their fertility, pregnancy, postnatal, and beyond.

We provide a diverse range of over 18 holistic healthcare services including naturopathic medicine, osteopathy, chiropractic care, massage therapy, pelvic floor physiotherapy, nutrition counseling, lactation consulting, acupuncture, mental health support, and more. Additionally, we offer various movement classes such as yoga, fitness, and pilates, along with educational sessions like childbirth preparation, nutrition, child development, infant sleep and more.

Our comprehensive array of services all under one roof allows clients to discover and access the various forms of support available to them. Central to our business model is the growing a supportive community for both our clients and team members. We are committed to fostering connections among families and professionals throughout the region, helping to build a network of support and collaboration.

We currently have an opening for either an employee or independent contractor position (to be discussed with applicants) and are hiring on a part-time basis with the potential to expand to full-time hours. There are available hours from Monday through Saturday, so scheduling is flexible. While our clientele primarily consists of women-identifying individuals, we welcome candidates who are passionate about providing care across diverse demographics and age groups.

Key Responsibilities:

Assessment and Diagnosis:
  • Complete thorough subjective exam to develop a strong understanding of patients’ health history and current condition.
  • Conduct thorough objective assessments of patients to evaluate pelvic floor function and identify specific issues.
Treatment Planning:
  • Develop patient focused treatment plans tailored to the patient's unique needs and goals.
  • Utilize a combination of therapeutic techniques, including pelvic floor exercises, manual therapy, and education on lifestyle modifications.
Rehabilitation:
  • Provide clear and effective communication to patients regarding their assessment findings and treatment plan
  • Offer education regarding pelvic anatomy, physiology and management strategies
  • Address pelvic pain concerns through various therapeutic interventions, including myofascial techniques, exercise prescription and lifestyle factor modification
  • Assist pregnant persons with pelvic floor preparation during pregnancy and in postpartum recovery, addressing issues such as pelvic girdle pain, diastasis recti and perineal tears.
Collaborative Care:
  • Internal referral with other RFWC team members to ensure comprehensive care for patients.
  • Correspond with other professionals such as gynecologists, midwives, doctors, urologists, orthopedic specialists, etc when required 
  • Participate in community events as well as RFWC meetings and social events when available

Qualifications:

  • Registered with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario
  • Level 1, 2 or higher (or equivalent) pelvic floor PT training is required. Must be trained for external and internal assessments and in the following: urinary and fecal incontinence, prolapse, pelvic pain, complex pain, pregnancy and postpartum. 
  • Pediatric experience and working with all genders is an asset.
  • Proof of valid liability/malpractice insurance
  • Ability to provide kind, empathetic communication with patients experiencing pelvic floor issues and provide compassionate and trauma-informed support.
  • Desire to work in a holistic team atmosphere
  • Great time management and organizational skills
  • Networking abilities to promote RFWC services and programs

  • Part-time hours: 8-30 hours per week
