Protecting your private and personal information is very important to us here at Rooted Family Wellness Centre. This Privacy Policy outlines what pieces of personal information we collect, what and how we use and share it, and the rights and choices people have with respect to this information. Rooted Family Wellness Centre (“RFWC”, “we,” “us,” or “our”), is a wellness centre for perinatal families in the Ottawa region (“Services”). This policy was originally written in English. If a translated version conflicts with this English version, the English version governs.

We use reputable hosting service providers for our database and application whose privacy, security, transparency and industry-specific standards are best-in-class. Our systems and databases are backed up regularly to help protect your information in case of an uncontrollable catastrophe.

No data transmitted over the internet, mobile applications and data storage can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. While we make all reasonable efforts to use commercially acceptable means to protect the information, we cannot warrant the security of any information you transmit to us, and everyone should acknowledge that there is always some risk when transmitting information to us through the Website.

  1. How long is personal data retained?

We retain information as long as it is necessary or when there is a legal obligation to further retain such information. We may keep information to comply with the law, prevent fraud, collect fees, resolve disputes, troubleshoot problems, assist with investigations, enforce the Terms of Service and take other actions permitted by law. Residents of California have the right to obtain from us, once per year and free of charge, information regarding what information we disclose to third-party marketers and the names and addresses of each third party to whom we disclose their data. If a California resident is under the age of 18, they have the right to request that we remove any data that they publicly post on our website. Note that while we will remove data that is publicly posted on our Site, we may not be able to completely remove that data from our systems. In the unlikely event clients’ data has been lost, stolen, or potentially compromised, our policy is to alert our clients via email no later than 72 hours of our becoming aware of the event. We will also report such incidents to any required data protection authority. We will work closely with any customers affected to determine next steps such as any end-user notifications, needed patches, and how to avoid any similar event in the future.
