What is Chiropractic Care?

Chiropractic care is a patient-centered, non-invasive, hands-on health care profession that focuses on the spine, muscles, joints, and nervous system. At Rooted Family Wellness Centre in Kanata, Ottawa, our chiropractors are trained to improve the movement and function of your body, addressing issues with the spine and extremities like the knees, shoulders, hips, and more.

Your initial chiropractic assessment includes a detailed health history, physical assessment, report of findings, and your first treatment. This allows our Kanata chiropractors to create a customized chiropractic treatment plan based on your unique wellness goals.

Conditions Treated with Chiropractic Care

Chiropractors can help manage and relieve a variety of conditions, including:

  • Neck pain
  • Headaches
  • Low back pain

Specialized Chiropractic Care for Pregnancy and Postpartum

During pregnancy, hormonal changes and postural shifts place added pressure on the spine and pelvis. Our chiropractors offer specialized perinatal care, including the Webster technique, which can:

  • Address sciatica
  • Help control nausea
  • Improve pelvic alignment for a more comfortable pregnancy and birth

In the postpartum period, many women experience discomfort from Cesarean section scars. Our chiropractors offer Cesarean Section Scar Release Therapy using the Dolphin Neurostim™ device, which uses Microcurrent Point Stimulation (MPS) to reduce pain, improve scar mobility, and support optimal healing.

Chiropractic Care for Infants and Children

Our pediatric chiropractic services offer gentle adjusting and stretching techniques for babies and children. They may use their hands and/or an adjustive device while the baby or child is either lying on a pillow or on their parents. It can even be done while your baby is sleeping! The force needed to produce an adjustment on a newborn is about the same as checking the ripeness of a tomato. Chiropractic care for children can address:

At Rooted Family Wellness Centre, we offer chiropractic care for the entire family, working in collaboration with other practitioners like massage therapists and osteopaths to help you achieve your optimal health and wellness goals.
