At Rooted Family Wellness Centre, we believe children and families thrive when they feel supported, connected, and cared for as whole people.

We’re a collaborative multidisciplinary wellness centre in Kanata specializing in pediatric, prenatal, postpartum, and family care, and we’re looking for a Pediatric Occupational Therapist to join our growing team.

This role is focused primarily on supporting infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and their caregivers through the early years of development. We’re looking for an OT who is passionate about helping young children build confidence and independence through play-based, relationship-centered care.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys working closely with families in the environments where children naturally learn and grow, whether that’s at home, in the community, or in our clinic.

About the Role

We’re seeking an Occupational Therapist who is passionate about early childhood development and supporting families through the challenges and milestones of the first few years of life.

You may support children and caregivers with:

  • developmental milestones
  • sensory processing
  • emotional regulation
  • feeding and picky eating
  • toileting
  • fine motor development
  • play skills
  • routines and transitions
  • self-regulation
  • school readiness
  • parent coaching and support

This role offers the opportunity to provide care in natural environments through:

  • in-home visits
  • community-based sessions
  • in-clinic appointments
  • optional virtual care
  • workshops

No two days look exactly the same, and we love that.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Conducting assessments and creating individualized treatment plans
  • Supporting children and families using evidence-based, play-based approaches
  • Coaching and empowering caregivers through everyday routines and challenges
  • Collaborating with other professionals to support client goals
  • Maintaining professional documentation and treatment records
  • Working alongside RFWC’s multidisciplinary team to provide holistic family care

Qualifications

  • Registration and membership in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario
  • Degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Valid liability/malpractice insurance
  • Experience or interest in pediatric occupational therapy and early childhood development
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills

Position Details

Location: Kanata, Ontario
Position Type: Independent Contractor
Hours: Part-time (12–24 hours/week) with opportunity to grow
Schedule: Flexible Monday–Saturday availability (with Sundays as a possibility)
