Gentle Sleep Consulting may now be covered under your private insurance plan—if you have Social Work coverage (mental health counselling) under either the parent's or child’s name. Just check your policy to confirm!

What Is Gentle Sleep Consulting?

Gentle Sleep Consulting offers responsive, relationship-based sleep support rooted in your child’s development and emotional needs. This isn’t about strict schedules, sleep training, or letting your baby cry it out. Instead, it’s about:

  • Understanding what’s developmentally normal for your child’s age

  • Learning why certain sleep challenges happen (like regressions or early wakings)

  • Finding responsive tools that align with your parenting approach

  • Empowering you with evidence-based guidance and reassurance

Common sleep concerns we help with include:

  • Frequent night wakings

  • Early morning wake-ups

  • Short naps or nap refusals

  • Bedtime battles

  • Sleep regressions

  • Over-reliance on feeding or rocking to sleep

  • Anxiety around sleep (for parents or children)

  • Transitions to crib or toddler bed

What to Expect from a Consultation

Whether you prefer in-clinic, in-home or virtual support, your experience will feel thoughtful, personalized, and judgment-free.

Before your appointment, you’ll fill out a Sleep and Wellness Assessment so your consultant can understand your family’s sleep dynamics. Then, during your 1-hour consultation, you’ll receive:

  • A personalized sleep strategy tailored to your goals

  • Comprehensive and gentle strategies for addressing your infant or toddler sleep challenges
  • Practical handouts to support your journey (like “Eating for Sleep” and “Self-Care for Sleep”)

  • A detailed summary of next steps so you feel confident going forward

Many families describe the session as a huge relief, finally feeling seen and supported in a sea of conflicting baby sleep advice.

Now Available with Insurance Coverage (Check Your Plan!)

Here’s how it works:

  • If your insurance plan includes Social Work, your Gentle Sleep Consulting fees may be eligible for reimbursement

  • Receipts are issued under the supervision of a Registered Social Worker

  • You must book the session labeled “With Insurance Receipt (click here)” to qualify

  • Fees include the consultant’s time and additional time for supervision by a Registered Social Worker
